Geobloggers at AGU 2008

posted in AGU, Geoblogosphere, blogging |

Last night we had a very nice gathering of Geology Bloggers at the Thirsty Bear in San Francisco. No time to write much at the moment, but I think we can safely say a good time was had by all…

Geobloggers at AGU 2008

The crew (L to R): Julian of Harmonic Tremors, Dave Schumaker of Geology News, Kim Hannula of All of My Faults are Stress Related, Jay De Lanoy of Rocks Math! (who’s blog I could not find – help me Jay!), David Williams of Stories in Stone, Lee Allison of Arizona Geology, and Randy Showstack of EOS and a geoblog to be named later. Oh, and the mysterious Science Woman showed up later, incognito. ;-)

It’s Rocks Math!. Not much there at the moment, but I hope to fix that, this next semester.

Sorry I had to take off so early. I blame San Francisco and AGU for having too much awesomeness. They should fix that.

For us in the peanut gallery — is anyone collecting pointers to whoever is doing actual blogging from the AGU meetings?

For those of us who can transcend our envy and admit we merely hang on y’all’s every word we can find ….

Merry Christmas, Ron. It looks like you guys had a great time. I love how blogging makes the world a little bit smaller and more friendly for us all.

Hank, we’re all so busy taking in fresh science that we can barely blog, period, let alone collect pointers. Attending a meeting is an intense, full-time experience and it always amazes me what the journalists do at these things.
